Licensing & Maintenance

Fixed
  • Various bug fixes and stability improvements.
  • Minor reliability fixes across metric collection, upload, and the menu bar.

Reliability Update

Fixed
  • Process collection status is now checked the moment the app launches and re-checked every few seconds while degraded — enabling the Login Item takes effect within seconds instead of requiring a restart.
  • If the helper daemon's background registration breaks (for example after an unusual upgrade), Pulse now repairs it automatically — and when it can't, the banner shows the exact fix instead of retrying forever.
  • The pending upload count now shows the exact number of queued records. It was previously estimated from file size and could read several times too high once process metrics were included.
Improved
  • Process data appears immediately when collection recovers, instead of waiting for the next refresh cycle.
  • The pending row is hidden when Splunk upload is disabled, since nothing is queued for upload.

First Stable Release

Added
  • Redesigned Splunk DEX dashboard with Performance, Stability, and Capacity sub-scores, tunable weights and thresholds, and per-device drill-down built into the same dashboard.
  • New fleet panels: Score Distribution, Cohort Trend, Score Movers, Per-Factor Contribution, and Devices Not Reporting.
Fixed
  • Pulse's own network collection no longer shows up as a top CPU process during captures.
Improved
  • Refreshed dashboard colors — memory metrics are now rose and the app accent matches the brand blue.

Beta 7

Fixed
  • High CPU usage when the device couldn't reach the Splunk endpoint. CPU now stays flat no matter how much data has queued up.
  • Reduced CPU cost when sending large batches to Splunk.
  • Installing the LaunchAgent PKG while Pulse was already running launched a second copy of the app.
  • If you deploy via MDM or use the LaunchAgent for auto-launch, install the updated LaunchAgent PKG to pick up the fix.

Beta 6

Added
  • Accurate per-process memory for system-owned processes via a new root helper daemon
  • Silent MDM approval via Apple's Managed Login Items profile
  • Signed uninstaller PKG for admin-only removal
Security
  • Kernel-enforced code-signing constraint on the helper daemon
  • Tightened Developer-ID designated requirement on the XPC connection
Fixed
  • Memory Pressure chart incorrectly showing Warning when pressure was Normal
  • pulse --start --no-headless not starting monitoring after relaunch
  • Health banner getting stuck when the Login Item was disabled post-install
